Hope

Hope. Do you have it? What does it look like for you? Or has it been knocked out of you by the circumstances of life?

Towards the end of last year, I came to realise that I was low on hope. I was not expecting the best for the future or even entertaining the thought that the future would or could improve. All I could see were these invisible chains keeping me bound, struggling to make it through each day. I was just exhausted in every area of my being and had come to accept that this was just how it is for me. To be honest, I still feel a bit like that.

That is one of the reasons, as I wrote in my previous post, that I started to keep a journal and end each day with thoughts of gratitude. A friend mentioned that she chose a word to focus on each year and challenged me to do the same. I immediately knew that my word should be – hope.

With that in mind, I am going to look at hope – what it means to have hope; what I should hope for; how to increase my hope. From time to time I will share my discoveries here and hopefully learn from some of you as you share your thoughts about hope with me. Perhaps you have one thing you can share with me about hope that will help steer me toward being more hopeful.

I know what hope does not look like and I no longer want to live there!

    My friend!
Something that keeps my hope up, is believing with all my heart that God works all things together for the good of those that love God and are called according to His purpose.
So i challenge God each day, especially the rough days, to show me the “all things” and it might not come that day or even year, but in time I do see!
Love you Su! Hope that means something to you!….
