Time out…

This week my friends went away for a three day retreat and asked me to stay the nights with their precious children. What a privilege to be trusted like this and it is not something I treat lightly.

One the things the 3 of us have been doing for years now is going to a movie during the school holidays, and, even though they are now teenagers, they still like the animated movies – and I am always happy to take them to see them. It’s our thing and we always have such fun. I used to fill them up with sugar of course but they no longer want that and it is enough for us just to hang out and come up with one-liners from the movie all the way home.

We did that today – saw Zootopia – which was both funny and thought provoking – for me at least. They both then went on play dates for the afternoon before we came home and they prepared dinner for the 3 of us. It was a good day.

After dinner I ended up on the upstairs balcony as the sun was setting. It was time for me to practice some mindfulness after a day not without its challenges. So I simply sat as dusk turned to night- listening to the frogs and the waves crashing on the beach nearby and the sound of cars carrying their occupants to the various houses nearby; feeling the wind on my face; sipping a cup of tea; watching the sky change colour from reds and oranges to darkness, seeing the pinpricks of light from stars piercing the dark canopy of sky and glows in the windows of the houses around us.

A good half hour of just being in the moment has left me refreshed and peaceful. I know this is something I need to do everyday – multiple times a day even – to take a time out and just restore the calmness.

    Hi my friend!

Sorry I am only reading some of your special blogs now! I have not been so well for about a year now, with the pain from the brain pressure peaking and taking me out for weeks. So I barely get the strength to go online and post something with my one eye open! Hehe!

I love you real and authentic blogs so so much! And they really touch me deeply!

Awesome that you had such fun at the movies! And thank you for that reminder to take time out to reflect and just chill! So important to do! Yet we don’t do it enough!
I want to ask you to keep writing your blog! Cause it’s very healing to so many of us! Cause is not fake! Just real authentic you! And we love you just the way you are!

How are you doing these days?

Know from my heart that I love you dearly and think of you so often! My lack of response to your blogs dies nit reflect how much you are thought of with living thoughts! And prayed for daily!

You make more of a difference than what you will ever known my friend! Trust me on that one!

Love you so very much! Please can you confirm that I have read and commented on all your blog posts? I don’t want to miss out!

    Love you forever dear friend!
